In The Corner at National Review Online, Jonah Goldberg reports that a reader emailed him thusly:
During the campaign finance reform hearings in the House Administration Committee Tom Delay and John Doolittle testified in support of their bill which they aptly titled The Doolittle and DeLay Bill.
To which Goldberg replied:
Doolittle is an excellent name. The Democrats should find someone named Dootoomuch.
Sounds like an excellent political philosophy to me. We should pay those guys in inverse proportion to the amount square of time they either have their mouths open or are introducing actual legislation (I suppose we could let them pass, you know, resolutions and stuff, like the UN, just to keep them busy, if they wanted to).
Hey—just be grateful that I mostly suppress my mercilessly pun-loving nature on this blog. And that I exercise, like, good judgement and all by refusing to link to the one about 3.5 inches lower on the Corner page because it would be so totally beneath my nature and good taste to do so.
Man. Some people are just impossible to please...
