Actually, there are three things I do need to call your attention to today.
Therefore, in reverse order of the amount of attention I think they've gotten:
1) The Liberty Papers is a brand-new group blog being run by several members of the LLP Community. Being a group blog, they have no shortage of new posts, the latest of which is Why Leftists Hate Thanksgiving.
2) I've never contributed to the Carnival of Satire before, since I haven't written much straight satire, but I did write one recently that I contributed, well, just because. Mark Rayner, the Carnival host and proprietor of the Skwib, thinks he should "sick" (sic) John Stossel on me because of my, well, contribution. You be the judge.
Needless to say, there a a lot more contributors who are a bit more adept at writing satire than I am.
3) The Carnival of the Vanities is also up over at Don Surber's place, and I usually scrape up something to contribute each week. This week's CotV is well-stocked with posts on all manner of subjects, from sex to humor, videogames, sports, media, money, music, blogging, how-tos, environment, and even (yuck) politics. Take a look, folks.
There's a lot more going on, too, and there's a post on Iraq policy that BADLY needs to be written, because I think I know now why so many politicians have been jumping on the "exit strategy" bandwagon in the last few days.
It's not a thing that makes me happy, but it may be the truth. Maybe I'll post it tonight. In the meantime, have a happy and grateful Thanksgiving, everyone.
