Via GeekPress we find that someone is working on "Search engines for the forgetful - New firms zero in on tracking items that get mislaid."
I am easily as absent-minded as they come. No contest.
At one place I used to work I was downright famous for this. I would be running around the production floor with an order in my hand, stop to solve a problem somewhere or speak to someone, and by the time I got back to my office the order was nowhere to be found. Of course it was laying somewhere out there, who knew where, and I had to then waste several minutes looking for it.
Today I do the same thing with countless objects from remote controls to phones to, well, anything. The phones you can "page," but what do you do with the others? If there were a cheap, tiny adhesive RFID tag I could attach to objects, I could use hundreds of them, I think. Tag everything in the house smaller than a breadbox. Even my brain, as I mislay that often as well.
