I just heard on the radio another example of how the left yet again sets aside any semblance of rational, logical thought when it comes to opposing the current administration.
That paragon of erudition; that master of wisdom and eloquence; that--that actor, Richard Dreyfuss, has let us all know where he stands. (This was radio, hence I have no link; in addition, while this isn't a perfect quote, it accurately captures the essence of what he said.)
No one should be able to tell my child that he has to go and place himself in harm's way or put himself in danger unless I understand and agree with the reasons for his doing so.
What in bloody-blinkin' blazes does he think his child is, his freakin' property? Once he is an adult, has he no moral authority of his own? Let his twelve-year-old child ask for an abortion and he has no right to even know about it, much less have any input into her decision--but let his fully adult child decide to join the military and fight for a cause she believes in, and he has to agree. Right.
Yet again the left shows utter contempt for those whom they claim to "support." Those who have voluntarily gone to Iraq to fight on our behalf have no right to make this choice for themselves, and the choices they have made are invalid. Just as Cindy Sheehan has dishonored the memory of her own son in the name of "supporting" him, so has most of the left dishonored everyone who has ever taken up arms to defend liberty around the world.
The word "sickening" doesn't come close any more to describing the depths to which these people have fallen.
